You reap what you sow

Brad Stanton —  September 27, 2014 — 2 Comments

000beggar“Good morning” said a woman as she walked up to the man sitting on ground. The man slowly looked up.

This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new. She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life.

His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before. “Leave me alone,” he growled….

To his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling — her even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. “Are you hungry?” she asked. “I’ll buy your lunch at the cafeteria across the street.”

She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She stared at him intently. “Jack, do you remember me?”

Old Jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes. “I think so — I mean you do look familiar.”

“I’m a little older perhaps,” she said. “Maybe I’ve even filled out more than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through that very door, cold and hungry.”

“I was just out of college,” the woman began. “I had come to the city looking for a job, but I couldn’t find anything. Finally I was down to my last few cents and had been kicked out of my apartment. I walked the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and nearly starving. I saw this place and walked in on the off chance that I could get something to eat.”

Jack lit up with a smile. “Now I remember,” he said. “I was behind the serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for something to eat. I said that it was against company policy.”

“I know,” the woman continued. “Then you made me the biggest roast beef sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told me to go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you would get into trouble… Then, when I looked over and saw you put the price of my food in the cash register, I knew then that everything would be all right.”

“So you started your own business?” Old Jack said. “I got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up. Eventually I started my own business that, with the help of God, prospered.” She opened her purse and pulled out a business card. “When you are finished here, I want you to pay a visit to a Mr. Lyons…He’s the personnel director of my company. I’ll go talk to him now and I’m certain he’ll find something for you to do around the office.” She smiled. “I think he might even find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet… If you ever need anything, my door is always opened to you.”

There were tears in the old man’s eyes. “How can I ever thank you?” he said. “Don’t thank me,” the woman answered. “Thank God, He led me to you.”

God is going to shift things around for you today and make things work in your favor.

Health

Brad Stanton —  September 24, 2014 — 3 Comments

?????????????Bo Sanchez writes about a friend of his who was dying of kidney failure. His creatinine level was too high and there seemed to be no way to lower it without a kidney transplant or dialysis. He was given six months to live.

Bo prayed with him for healing. A year later Bo saw him again. He was not only still alive, but Bo was amazed at how healthy he looked. He was lean and trim and looked like an athlete.

Bo asked him what happened. The man said “I started getting exercise every day. In fact, I play four hours of badminton every day with my wife and kids. My creatinine levels are down and I feel great.”

Bo had another friend who found out she had cancer. At first she stayed in bed and cried most of the day. But later she realized this kind of lifestyle was not helping her health or her happiness, so she decided to find things to do that she loved doing.

Now she lives her life to the fullest. She is a public speaker and travels around the country (Philippines) to give hope to thousands of people.

Some time later Bo met her again and she was still at it, traveling around and helping people. You would never guess she has cancer. That is because she is not a cancer victim, but a victor.

“Nothing can stop you from living life with joy.” ~ Bo Sanchez

Bo Sanchez is a writer of motivational books and a speaker, speaking to thousands of people each week in the Philippines.

Want a better life?

HolySpiritPowerfulIn U“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”- Eckhart Tolle

You can have a happier, more successful, more powerful life starting today. Do you believe it? Jesus said “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:23

If you say affirmations out loud every day, you will feel much better. Try saying these every day, or many times a day.

I am blessed. I am loved. I’m equipped and anointed.

The king of the universe loves me and has a fantastic plan for my life.

I’m a conqueror and victorious. Romans 8:37

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

I’m a champion, a winner.

Go 24 hours without complaining or criticizing. Be especially careful not to allow your self-talk to criticize yourself. Why is it that many people realize they shouldn’t bully other people, but they bully themselves?

One thing that has made me a lot happier is to thank God for blessings in the morning as I get out of bed and get ready to go to work. Then on the drive to work I continue. It makes me happy and sets the direction for the day.

Contentment

Being Content

Happiness

A wise man said to his friend “Every time I see you, you are running around in a hurry. What are you running after?”

The man answered quickly “Success, money and the rewards of my hard work.”

The wise man said “That would make sense if you assumed all those things are ahead of you, but what if all those things were behind you, and the faster you run, the more difficult it is for those things to catch up to you?”

What are you chasing?

We all run after something. What are you running after?  Are you running after money, a beautiful house, a person, a position in your company, a degree, a relationship, a better relationship with loved ones? There is nothing wrong with these things, but they won’t fully satisfy you unless you learn to be content.

A writer found an old list of goals he had set for himself. He had written many books and spoke regularly to large groups of people. He was surprised that he had accomplished every one of his goals so quickly. But as he continued to think about it, he was also surprised that he was not more content with what he had. Many people expect outward circumstances to fulfill their inner happiness. He found that instead of constantly running, it is better take some time to rest and enjoy what you have.

Gratitude brings happiness

Many very successful people who train others for success say that one of the best things you can do to achieve more success is to enjoy what you already have and be thankful. You reap what you sow. If you think about happy things you will sow more happy things. Being grateful is one way of keeping happy thoughts in your mind. Happy thoughts can’t be in your mind at the same time as sad thoughts. The best way to push sad, angry or any other undesirable thoughts out of your mind is to think about happy thoughts.

Sometimes I count my blessings in my mind, sometimes I write out a list of things I am grateful for, but either way, I always feel happier after I do it.

Here in the USA, we have a holiday for being grateful. We call it “Thanksgiving.” People get together with family, eat turkey and other delicious food, and have fun.

Enjoy where you are instead of where you want to be, it will make you stronger and more likely to achieve your goals.

oneprayerSchool of Prayer

Do your prayers get answered? If not, I know this online class will help.

School of prayer is an online course taught by me, Brad Stanton. The purpose is draw close to God, enjoy more of the joy of the Holy Spirit and get answers to prayer. There are weekly lessons which teach principles from the Bible about prayer—I will email you the lesson each week. The participant will answer the questions and I go over the answers with him/her. I will be available by email for any questions you have.

Some people get many answers to prayer

After studying the Bible for many years I have found that there are keys to answered prayers. As a missionary to Asia, I talked with many people who had seen miracles and I had miracles happen in my life. I returned to the USA with a hunger to find out more about this and have talked to dozens of people who have had amazing answers to prayer.

Sickness have been healed, finances have improved, relationships made better, career improved and much more. Do you have the faith to receive answers to prayer? If you don’t now, you will after taking this 6 week course.

These are some of the topics that will be covered:

  1. Jesus said faith is a key to answered prayer
  2. Hindrances to prayer
  3. The right attitude and relationship with God
  4. Why answers to prayer are sometimes delayed
  5. How gratitude strengthens your prayers
  6. How joy strengthens your prayers
  7. Memorizing Bible verses strengthens faith
  8. Examples of answered prayers
  9. The power of words
  10. What made Peter walk on water
  11. The law of sowing and reaping (the ironclad law of cause and effect)
  12. Why counting your blessings makes your prayers powerful

There are dozens of promises of answered prayer in the Bible.

John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

John 14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.

John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you

John 16:23 I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Matthew 17:20 Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
