Most people don’t realize they have seeds of greatness on the inside of them that are just waiting to be cultivated so that they can grow.

Not everyone is successful early in life. Not everyone makes good grades in school, but that doesn’t mean they won’t do great things in life. There have been some people who contributed great things to the world who did not do well in school. They might have let it get them down and decided they would live a normal, mediocre life. But they didn’t. Some of these people are Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, numerous rock stars, actors, sports stars and many, many others.

Some people have very little formal training in their field, but they still stand out due to the fact that they allow their seeds of greatness to grow. Joel Osteen has one year of Bible College in which he studied TV broadcasting, not preaching or pastoring, but he preaches at the largest church in the USA, which he took from his father and grew it to what it is today.

Phyllis Diller was an American actress and comedienne. She created a stage persona of a wild-haired and eccentrically dressed housewife who made self-deprecating jokes about her age and appearance, her terrible cooking, and a husband named “Fang”, while pretending to smoke from a long cigarette holder. ~ Wikipedia

Diller competed with many beautiful women for the top spot in humor and many say she took it. She took what she seemed to think was her liability and turned it into an asset—her appearance.

The movie Rocky, was written by Sylvester Stallone. Complications his mother suffered during labor forced her obstetricians to use two pairs of forceps during his birth; misuse of these accidentally severed a nerve and caused paralysis in parts of Stallone’s face. As a result, the lower left side of his face is paralyzed – including parts of his lip, tongue, and chin – an accident which has given Stallone his snarling look and slightly slurred speech. ~ Wikipedia

Many would feel that if he had a mouth that was crooked, acting was not for him, but Stallone didn’t let it deter him. See photo below. Actually, many think his mouth adds character.

In the movie Rocky said to Adrianne, his girlfriend “My mom always told me that since I didn’t have much of a mind, I had better develop my body.”

Adrianne replied “My mom always told me that since I didn’t have much of a body, I had better develop my mind.”

Many people who seemed to fail at many different things in life often ended up training their mind to do something amazing. I have written blog posts about many of them.

The mind is a terrible thing to waste. (And the waist is a terrible thing to mind.) Don’t forget to say your affirmations, whatever they may be. Example: I am happy, healthy, wealthy, wise and good looking.
